Meet Rachel

Creating Ceremonies That Feel Authentically you.

Hi! I'm Rachel – a wedding celebrant based in North East England, and I'm here to help you create a ceremony that feels authentically, joyfully you.

I'm also a wife, a mum to my daughter, and devoted dog-parent to Molly, my beagle. When I'm not crafting ceremonies, you'll usually find me outdoors – walking Molly through the countryside, horse riding, or hiking across the beautiful North East landscapes I'm lucky to call home.

How I Became a Celebrant

My journey to celebrancy began in an unexpected place — the Himalayas. I was taking part in a charity trek, and during those incredible days surrounded by mountains, new people, and meaningful conversations, I had my lightbulb moment. A couple of those friends had recently become celebrants, and as we chatted about their work, something clicked. Maybe this was something I could do too.

I was already at a point of reflecting on what I wanted to do next, and celebrancy seemed to pull together everything I loved — meeting new people, making genuine connections, telling someone’s story in a way that feels real and true to them, and creating experiences that truly matter. It felt like the perfect next chapter.

My Journey to Celebrancy

I started my career in tourism management after completing my degree at university. For a decade, I worked in tourism, events, and marketing management within visitor attractions. I loved the creativity, the people, and the energy of bringing experiences to life.

Eventually, I decided to follow a lifelong ambition and move into teaching. I became a university lecturer, teaching tourism, events, and marketing management – the same subjects I'd lived and breathed for a decade.

What I loved most about lecturing was working with my students and watching them grow in confidence. Seeing them blossom from their first day to graduation was incredibly rewarding. That same sense of purpose and joy is what I bring to celebrancy now.

What I Bring to Your Ceremony

Creating your ceremony isn't just about writing words on a page. It's about capturing your story, your personalities, and the life you're building together. My background in event management means I understand how to create meaningful experiences. My years as a lecturer mean I know how to guide, support, and help people discover their own voice.

I'm all about helping couples think outside the box and discover possibilities they might not have considered. Want to include your favourite movie quotes? Let's do it. Thinking about having your dog as a ring bearer? Brilliant. Wondering about incorporating your shared hobbies into a unique ritual? I love coming up with creative ideas that make your ceremony distinctly yours.

Why I Love What I Do

I've always loved weddings. When my husband and I got married, we did so much of it ourselves – adding personal touches and elements of our personality into every detail. That same creative energy, that desire to make something meaningful and personal, is what drives me as a celebrant.

I love organizing parties, hosting events, and bringing people together. Being a celebrant lets me combine all the things I’m passionate about — creating meaningful experiences, connecting with people, and crafting celebrations that feel truly special. It’s the perfect fit.

Most importantly, I love meeting couples and crafting ceremonies that celebrate their love and connection. Guiding you through the process, sharing ideas, and watching your vision come to life – that's what brings me joy.

No idea is off limits. I help couples discover unique ways to make their ceremony special, whether that's through bespoke rituals, unexpected readings, or meaningful symbolic gestures that reflect your story.

What I Believe

Your ceremony should be meaningful without being formal, emotional without being heavy, and joyful without being forced. Every couple deserves a ceremony that reflects who they truly are – not a template or a generic script. The heart of your day should be your connection, and everything we create together should place you and your love at the centre.
